Alberta removed its 8 PM cutoff for drink specials in June 2016, Global News reported. Alberta still sets minimum drink prices, so specials are discounts rather than free drinks. The AGLC raised the minimums in June 2026 and the province ordered that reversed within two weeks, so check the AGLC for current figures. According to TodaysTab's checks on October 31, 2026, we track 520 active Calgary-area venues and 234 listings have a current special that meets our rules (confidence 0.7 or higher, checked within 45 days). Some venues are listed twice, so that is a count of listings. Among venues with a happy hour listing and a stated start and end, the most common window is 2 to 5 PM at 47 venues, ahead of 3 to 6 PM at 32. Another 32 have a window that starts at 9 PM or later, many of them chain late-night menus. The cheapest pour with a stated window is a 5 oz Tool Shed core beer at $3.
The other Calgary lists we found are dated: Daily Hive's roundup ran in March 2022 with eight venues, and Curiocity's is a map. This guide adds exact prices, days and windows, a check date, and a section on what we could not confirm.
